Dr Jiao is a rehabilitation medicine physician offering inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation services at John Flynn Private Hospital, Robina Private Hospital, and Gold Coast Private Hospital. He specialises in helping patients restore their function after a disabling disease or injury. His aim is to optimise patient independence and quality of life.

Dr Jiao’s path in medicine has always been centred in rehabilitation. He completed an undergraduate degree in occupational therapy before pursuing medicine. He undertook his specialty training with the Australasian Faculty of Rehabilitation Medicine and has worked in both public and private hospitals in Queensland and New South Wales, Australia and has over 15 years of clinical experience.

He believes that illness or injury does not only affect the patient physically but also impacts on their families, mental health, work, and lifestyle. He works with a team of highly skilled health professionals such as physiotherapists, occupational therapists, nurses, speech pathologists, and other allied health professionals to provide a holistic multidisciplinary approach. Together with his team, Dr Jiao aims to help patients achieve meaningful goals optimising safety, independence, function, and quality of life. He values the collaborative approach with primary care providers and allied health professionals and welcomes collegial discussions to provide the best care tailored to the patient’s needs.
