Dr Jom Jiao completes advanced cryoneurolysis training in Canada
We’re excited to share that Dr Jom Jiao has recently returned from Canada after attending an advanced workshop on cryoneurolysis for spasticity management, led by international expert Dr Paul Winston. This innovative, ultrasound-guided procedure targets overactive nerves to help reduce muscle stiffness and improve movement in selected patients.
Dr Jiao’s training with Dr Winston—one of the pioneers of cryoneurolysis in neurorehabilitation—further strengthens GC Rehab’s commitment to providing the latest evidence-based treatments in spasticity care. Cryoneurolysis will soon be available as an additional treatment option for suitable patients at GC Rehab.

Dr Jom Jiao attends Global Ixcellence Clinical Expert Forum in MunichJune 14–16, 2025 – Munich, Germany
Dr Jiao recently returned from the Global Ixcellence Clinical Network Expert Training Forum 2025, held in Munich, Germany — a prestigious international event focused on advanced clinical use of botulinum toxin therapy for conditions such as spasticity and cervical dystonia.
The forum brought together leading clinicians from around the world to share the latest in evidence-based practice, innovative techniques, and patient-centred approaches to care.
Dr Jiao’s attendance reflects GC Rehab’s commitment to staying at the forefront of neurorehabilitation, ensuring our patients receive the most up-to-date and effective treatments available.

We are excited to welcome Dr. Judith Dierkes to our team. A skilled Rehabilitation Medicine Physician, Dr. Dierkes has extensive training in Medicine, Movement Sciences, and Biological Health Sciences from leading universities in Australia and the Netherlands.
With broad international experience in both public and private settings, she specializes in a variety of conditions, including spinal cord injuries, stroke, traumatic brain injury, cancer rehabilitation, and musculoskeletal disorders. Dr. Dierkes is dedicated to delivering personalized, evidence-based care to optimize recovery and improve the quality of life for her patients.

This event provided invaluable insights into innovative therapies and cutting-edge approaches to help improve outcomes for individuals living with spasticity. Following the symposium, Dr Jiao had the privilege of observing at TIRR Memorial Hermann, one of the world’s top rehabilitation centers. This experience offered a firsthand look at their pioneering techniques in neurorehabilitation and patient care, further enhancing his expertise.
Dr Jiao’s commitment to staying at the forefront of rehabilitation medicine ensures that GC Rehab continues to provide the highest standard of care to our community. We look forward to integrating these learnings into our practice to better support our patients.
